This is an opportunity for students to create their own water colour set and use it to paint geometric compositions. Learn how pigments are made from roots, berries, beetles, oxides and minerals and make your own set of water colours. Explore how pigments are sourced, precipitated and ground and how various binders are used to turned pigments into paint. The course will also cover colour theory, alchemy & symbolism. It will culminate in a series of geometric pattern paintings within an enlarged composition, using the hand-made colours created by the students.
