Costumes give the audience clues and insights into the characters in film, theatre, dance and performance art. Costumes such as those created by Kazimir Malevich, insert the viewer into a world based on his Futurist philosophies. Through a brief lecture and design exercises exploring how stories are told through costume shape, colour, and texture, participants will gain a deeper understanding of costume design.
Esther de Veuve is a Fashion Design Professor at VCUarts Qatar with extensive experience in theatre costume design and fabrication.
Masterpieces that showcase the trajectory of Malevich’s life from the collection of the State Russian Museum are on view as a legacy of Qatar Russia Year of Culture.
