Brief description of the work to be conducted

  • The intern will be engaged in the Audio-Visual support in the Auditorium and setting up meeting rooms. Assist AV systems operators in preparing events and support during events, as well as AV rehearsals. Prepare meeting rooms prior to scheduled use. Operation of AV equipment such as audio mixers, video mixers, lighting console, different type of microphones, camera controls and other various operation that may arise during events operations

Period of Internship/Hours: 3-5hrs per day during events 3-5 days a week Whole duration of internship

Qualifications/ Requirements: University students majoring in Audio Visual related courses such as AV engineering, AV broadcasting or Mass Communication

Technical Helpdesk

Location: Depends on demand. Will be assigned to any of the following. NMOQ, Mathaf, Firestation Tower 1 & 2, Mia

Brief description of the work to be conducted


• Preparation of new PCs, iMac, notebook computers for deployment, including the unpacking, installation of the operating system, installation of applications and clients as per the user requirements, settings of operating system, user profiles, & PC BIOS parameters as per QM policies.
• Onsite installation of new PCs, Mac and locally attached peripherals such as printers, image scanners. The installation includes site readiness inspection to verify availability of proper desktop, power outlets, & network outlets.
• Installation of additional applications as per user’s requirements such as QM Business applications, Acrobat reader, Adobe, AutoCAD, Emu Library software, etc.
• Preparation and onsite installation of Networked printers that will serve QM Business Applications users.
• Preparation and onsite installation of Printers.
• Meeting room arrangements and supporting skype meeting, WebEx, GoToMeeting, tele conference calls etc.  
• Inspecting and troubleshooting the Time attendance recording devices distributed across all sites.
• Upgrade of PC hardware as required such as increase of memory or hard disk size etc.
• Upgrade of operating systems and applications such as Windows 7 to Windows 10 and Office 2013 to Office 2016/365.
• Troubleshooting of hardware and software for PCs, & Peripherals.
• Troubleshooting of basic networking.
• Recovery of lost user’s data caused by hardware or software failures and user errors.
• Relocation of PCs & Peripherals as required by users.
• Configuring user data backup mechanisms as required by users.
• Configuration and fine-tuning of existing applications on PCs such as internet browsers and office automation application settings.

Microsoft Dynamics AX Support

Department/Museum: Information Technology (IT)

Section/Unit: IT Applications/IT Enterprise Unit

Location: QM Tower- 1

Brief description of the work to be conducted

  • The intern will be part of a team of Microsoft Dynamics AX specialists dedicated to providing end user support for Finance, Procurement, Retail and HR (Human Resources) modules. This is a hands-on ERP exposure and is expected to provide insights into operational processes on purchase requisitions, purchase orders, invoices, retail operations, HR processes etc.

Period of Internship/Hours: Fall Internship- Sep to Dec 2019
3-5 hrs. per day, 2-3 days a week but flexible in terms of number of weeks. The internship might include research in a library and access to a university library is highly desirable

Qualifications/ Requirements: Individuals pursuing a University degree or recent graduates. Basic knowledge of how organizations purchase and pay for goods and services and retail operations would be a nice-to-have

Front End Developer

Department/Museum: Information Technology

Section/Unit: Web services unit

Location: QM Tower 1

Brief description of the work to be conducted

  • The intern will join the web development team which is responsible for maintaining and development of all QM entities websites. It will be a great opportunity to understand the work environment and the software development life cycle.

Period of Internship/Hours: 5-7 hours per day, 2-3 days a week, between September 1st 2019 -December 31st 2019.

Qualifications/ Requirements: Foundational understanding of HTML, CSS, JQuery and JavaScript. Any relevant experience will be beneficial.
