Brief description of the work to be conducted  

During the internship period over the course of 3 months (October to January) you will be studying, observing and analysing a historical building that will be renovated to become a space for designers to explore and experiment.
You will work with a curator on site and in the office to collect and analyse the most significant parts of the building and its history.
In the end of your internship period, objects and information collected will be selected to be displayed in a specified space within the building.

Period of Internship/Hours:    3 months 20 hours a week (4 hours per day)

Curatorial Assistant

Brief description of the work to be conducted    

The intern will assist the QOSM Collections Team in:

• Liaise and coordinate with artists on proposal and commission developments.
• Research and write artist scopes of work.
• Write text for PA artwork for the use of labels and publications and talks.
• Research develops and presents potential artists for locations and Public Art strategy.
• Research and develop potential programs / strategies to grow and enhance Public Art collection.
• Maintaining records and cataloguing on EMU.
• Build partnerships and collaborations with internal departments and external institutions.
• To collaborate with other institutions or groups nationally and internationally and to develop or ensure good relations with relevant stakeholders.
• To develop relationships with International Networks of Museums and represent the Public Art in the discussions for new developments, works, partnerships.

Period of Internship/Hours:    • May - August 2020 • 5-7 Hours / Day
Qualifications/ Requirements:    Minimum requirement: BA Hons: Museum, Curatorial studies, art History, English Language. Plus: MA: Museum, Curatorial studies, art History, English Language. Proficient in English language. Arabic is a plus.
