Field Visits to Al Zubarah Fort
Join us for an educational guided tour of the UNESCO World Heritage site, Al Zubarah.
These field trips will take place according to your schools' timetabling and availability. Get in touch with the Education team to arrange yours.
By bringing your students and children to the Al Zubarah Archaeological site, we hope to help build awareness about Qatar’s past, while also expanding knowledge and interest in the role of archaeology among local communities. Collectively we hope to facilitate a better knowledge & interest in Al Zubarah, Qatari history, life in the past, along with daily life and the economy of Qatar's first UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Typically a day trip to us for one or two classes (around 40 students maximum), would last from 9:30 am till 12:30 pm, or from 10:00 am till 1:00 pm, including: a tour of Al Zubarah Fort, a short lecture, a chance to see and handle some artifacts and then a visit to the excavation area in the town itself. We tailor our tours to the age of your pupils, and we have received positive feedback from primary level through to university students. Currently guided tours are offered in English and Arabic.
