Looking Back at the Book Fair
The 25th Doha International Book Fair took place from 11th to 17th January at the QNCC and was a great success, with a record number of titles this year. New and used books were on sale, manuscripts, religious texts, as well as children’s titles.
To celebrate this year's Book Fair, we launched a range of new books, including 'What’s in the Sand?' the first publication from our Family Programmes. Written by Shaikha Alzeyara and illustrated by Mai Al Kubaisi, it's a story of adventure, imagination and a mother’s love and support for her children, available in English and Arabic. To mark the book release, we organised a number of exciting events at the Book Fair, like story reading, hands-on activities and an author and illustrator signing.
Dr Fatema Al Sulaiti, our Deputy Director of Collections in the Cultural Heritage team also launched two of her latest books, Fatimid Woodwork and Architecture Development.

Our Chairperson, Her Excellency Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, visited the QM booth at the Book Fair on 15th January and again, on 17th January with His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani, the Father Emir.
