Handball stars visit Dribbling 4 Success
Croatian handball superstar Ivano Balić and Spanish star keeper José Javier Hombrados were among the many visitors to 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum’s Dribbling 4 Success exhibition at Lusail Multipurpose Hall last week.
As part of the 24th Men’s Handball World Championship Qatar 2015, the exhibition is a work of cooperation between 3-2-1 and the Local Organizing Committee Qatar 2015.
The exhibition came alive when Croatian legend Ivano Balić temporarily became part of the display, while he stood beside his jersey and the video featuring highlights from his career.
His teammate from the German club HSG Wetzlar, Spanish goalkeeper José Javier Hombrados also shared his stories.
Both players took a tour of the exhibition, which features jerseys and videos from seven former IHF World Handball Players of the Year: Magnus Wislander (Sweden), Talant Dujshebaev (Russia, Spain), Yoon Kyung-Shin (South Korea), Ivano Balić (Croatia), Arpad Šterbik, Nikola Karabatić and Mikkel Hansen. They also explored some highlights from the international and local history of handball, including memorabilia from the Qatari player Saleh Hassan Bu Jaloof from the 1970s.
Also on view are a collection of jerseys from Boris Vrle Vrhovac, the physical therapist of the Qatari national handball team, who is a passionate collector of jerseys.
The exhibition is open to all spectators attending matches at Lusail Multipurpose Hall on the first floor near the North entrance until February 1, 2015.
