National Museum

Learning & Outreach

Education and learning is at the heart of the National Museum. Engaging, informative and creative programming make it a welcoming environment for people of all ages and walks of life.

The Learning Department at the National Museum is developing a rich offer for our audiences. Some examples include; resources for teachers and students, family interactive discovery spaces and trails, outdoor play areas, family back packs, actor and storytelling workshops, and courses and events.

In the run up to the museum opening, the learning team are visiting schools across the country. We are informing teachers and students about what they can see at the National Museum and how its collections are an excellent educational resource. If you are a teacher and would like us to visit your school for our next Outreach visits in September/October 2017 please email us at
