Cars are part of our everyday lives and some of the most coveted objects. People love well-designed cars, take good care of them and cherish them. Cars are designed for various purposes, which also dictate the car’s design.
1. In this collage/drawing workshop, the children will choose a picture of one of the cars, cut it out, and glue it on a paper. Then they will draw around it the scene where they imagine such a car fits best. The instructor will tell them to pay attention to context: What is the style of the car? For whom was it intended? What purpose would it serve best? (Ages 5-11)
2. In this collage/drawing workshop, the children will choose pictures of 2 different cars (either style-wise or chronologically disparate) and be asked to think about how they differ. They will be asked to draw two scenes, placing one car in each, and to try to tell a story about each by making the car the center of attention and the narrative. (Ages 12-15)
