A look back at Art Dubai 2015
This year's edition of Art Dubai included 92 galleries from 39 countries, presenting works of more than 500 artists. Along with the galleries, artists, speakers and curators, Qatar Museums was also there participating at the fair in the heart of Madinat Jumeirah.
The mix on the floor was vibrant! Many say that this is the thinking person’s art fair, a dynamic, evolving space where the galleries are alongside a range of important programmes too, bringing a fresh set of conversations.
Art Dubai is an international art fair with its roots in the Middle East and South Asia. It features three gallery programmes— Contemporary, Modern and Marker—offering audiences the opportunity to discover the work of more than 500 artists through histories and across geographies.
We particularly enjoyed this year’s edition of Marker, which was devoted to Latin America.
Along with talks, exhibitions and art spaces, education has been at the heart of Art Dubai since its launch in 2007 and the fair now has the largest education programming of any such event worldwide.
QM's Director of the Fire Station Artist in Residence Programme, Hala Al Khalifa, conducted a talk at the fair about the newly opened space in the centre of Doha.
